PUCRS advocates quality education for all; therefore, there are several ways to study with the University's qualified professors. Company employees can take specialization courses and certifications with excellent investment conditions through partnerships between the company and the University. Not to mention that PUCRS offers a benefits plan and the option of personalized courses for companies that want to qualify their employees.
These partnerships occur at different levels and can start from adaptation of an existing course, or the creation of a program from scratch, based on the company's needs, considering its particularities and the economic sector in which it operates, and the search for the most qualified professors. PUCRS professors act as curators, with all the expertise in their areas of academic and scientific knowledge to bring reflections and assist companies in finding solutions to business challenges.
With thousands of employees, the Rio Grande do Sul-based company Tramontina is one of PUCRS' partners in bringing knowledge to its employees. The company recently contracted a 16-hour in-person certification program to address an essential topic for the company: Data Analytics Culture. This training program will involve the participation of more than 150 employees, including several leaders. Professor Rodrigo Heldt Silveira, from the School of Business, will teach the entire course at Tramontina's headquarters in Carlos Barbosa.
The idea came about when Tramontina's Production Engineering Supervisor, Augusto Bock, took the data discipline MBA Technology for Business and Data Science and was enchanted by Professor Rodrigo's teaching method. He and some colleagues took the idea to the factory's human resources department that it would be important to disseminate this knowledge of analytical culture to the company's entire management team.
“After the first class we had in the corporate MBA, we started developing a data digitalization and analysis project here at Tramontina. From there, we felt the need for the entire management and support team to be part of this immersion that we were having. And the initial feedback we are getting from the team that is participating is very positive. The goal is to make the company as a whole incorporate the analytical culture. And making this something that further leverages the company’s competitiveness.”, celebrates Augusto.

Another possibility for corporate education is the purchase of longer-lasting and more complex products, such as specializations. Rede Marista Brasil is another partner company and has acquired 30 places on the MBA in Project Management and Agile Methods for network managers.
“The MBA in Project Management and Agile Methodologies is one of Marista Brasil’s development initiatives that strengthens the innovation and agility mindset of our project managers and leaders and has already borne fruit and insights important for us to continue seeking excellence in our actions and results. In addition, the training reinforces the importance of transposing theory into practice in our daily lives and provides the development of skills and abilities highlighted by the World Economic Forum, such as innovation, leadership, analytical thinking, among others, to be prepared for a scenario of constant changes, both internal and external.”, shares the Culture and Development Coordinator of the People and Management Department of Marista Brasil, Juliana Maranho.
The inaugural class was personalized with a lecture by Professor Jorge Audy and an opening by Adriana Kampff, Pro-Rector of Undergraduate Studies and Education at PUCRS.
“There are many reasons that unite us in this initiative: we are Marists and, therefore, committed to quality training and excellence in our actions, seeking the continued development of our employees. Providing courses tailored to the improvement needs of partner institutions is a premise of our Corporate Education area and, together with Brasil Marista, we are offering the MBA in Project Management and Agile Methods, to further enhance their innovation and management actions.”, comments Adriana.
