Entrepreneurial Tournament 2025 promotes transformative experiences for those who want to innovate

Event accepts registrations until May 21st

Tuesday, May 20 | 2025

O Entrepreneur Tournament 2025 has already been scheduled and promises to stir up the PUCRS academic community with innovative ideas and solutions that transform realities. On May 24 and 31, students from different courses at the University and the community will come together to experience an immersive experience of co-creation, learning and development of projects with potential for impact.

Promoted by the Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Entrepreneurship and Innovation – Idear, the Tournament is more than a competition: it is a space for practical experimentation that stimulates critical thinking, interdisciplinary collaboration and the entrepreneurial spirit. The proposal is clear: to encourage students to develop real solutions to contemporary challenges, applying innovation tools in an accessible and dynamic way.

“The Entrepreneurial Tournament is a concrete expression of PUCRS’ commitment to training students who are protagonists, prepared to innovate, undertake and generate real impact. We created this space precisely so that ideas can take shape and gain purpose.”, highlights professor Leonardo Cruz.

Over the course of two Saturdays, participants will receive mentoring, workshops and pitches, with the support of professionals from the innovation ecosystem and professors from the University. The teams will work on social and environmental themes and challenges, building proposals that combine viability, creativity and purpose.

At the end of the process, the projects are presented to an evaluation panel made up of representatives from the market, academia and the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The best ideas receive cash prizes and development opportunities, as well as visibility inside and outside PUCRS.

Entrepreneurship is for all areas

With each edition, the Tournament reinforces the importance of entrepreneurship as a transversal skill, accessible to all courses and profiles.

“Events like the Entrepreneur Tournament are great starting points for experimenting with entrepreneurship at university. They allow any student, regardless of their field of study, to put ideas into practice, based on real contexts, work as a team and discover new skills in a relaxed way. This is how PUCRS trains not only good professionals, but also people who are prepared for the challenges of the future.”, highlights Anelise Simon, Academic Coordinator at Idear.

In 2024, more than 100 students participated in the Tournament, with projects in the areas of health, sustainability, education, technology and social impact. For this year, the expectation is to further expand the scope and diversity of the proposals.

Students interested in participating must register for free until May 21st on the Idear website. Places are limited, and participation is open to PUCRS undergraduate and graduate students and the external community.
