The workshop will be held by Dance graduate Carol de Souza
O PUCRS Culture Workshop promotes Forró Workshop: First Steps de March 20 a June 12 of 2025. They are 11 meetings Taj 17h30 at 19h (Thursdays), taught by the dancer and teacher Carol de Souza, in the PUCRS Cultura Atelier space, located on the ground floor of Building 30, at the Polytechnic School of the PUCRS Campus. To participate, you must be at least 16 years old.
During 10 meetings, the basic repertoire of forró will be worked on, as well as the dancing body and the relationship between couples through dynamics for dances at forró parties and balls. In the last meeting, a celebration will be held so that participants can freely put into practice what they have learned throughout the workshop.
Carol de Souza She has a degree in dance from UFRGS, is a forró dancer and a participant in Brazilian popular dances. She is currently a forró teacher at the Roots POA project, a teacher and part of the coordinating team of the Arapuca do Samba project.
