FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Who can apply?

If there are vacancies available, enrolled PUCRS students may request re-option (internal transfer) to another course, shift or curriculum, without having to take an entrance exam. For enrolled PUCRS students who are suspended, it is recommended to apply for re-entry with re-option.

  • Can I apply after classes start?

The request may be submitted on a date close to or after the start of classes in the first semester, considering that the applicant is aware that, if the request is granted, some subjects may not have vacancies or there may be a loss of academic content due to the advancement of the semester.

  • How to request reoption?

To submit a re-option request, you must make the request online or in person at the Academic Registration Coordination (CRA), located at the PUCRS Student Service Center, on the ground floor of Living 360°.

Requests and documents sent by physical mail to PUCRS will not be accepted.

The enrolled student who requests re-option and subsequently suspends enrollment will have his/her re-option process disregarded, rendering the request ineffective; replacing the intention to change course or shift with the re-entry process with re-option.

  • What is the deadline for responding to my request?

The deadline for responding to the request after it has been filed is approximately 7 (seven) business days. The response to the approved request will be given only by email, by sending a message to the address that the applicant registered on the application form, indicating the necessary steps for enrollment.

PUCRS is not responsible if messages sent to the applicant's email are signed as spam; therefore, in order to facilitate communication, it is recommended that the junk mail folder of the email account indicated by the applicant in the application submission form be checked.

  • How do I cancel my order?

If the student wishes to cancel the re-option request, after the process is completed, but before enrolling in the new course or shift, a request must be filed via email to the Academic Registration Coordination (cra@pucrs.br), or by filling out a general application in person at the coordination office.

  • What happens if my request is denied?

If the application is rejected, the applicant will be notified by email, by sending a message to the address registered on the application form, indicating the reason for the rejection.

  • Can I request re-option after the enrollment scales have been published?

If the request for re-option occurs after the publication of the enrollment scale, the enrollment slip for paying students will be generated with the amount corresponding to the old course, and must be paid in the monthly fee of the following month. The amount will be adjusted in order to promote any necessary charges or refunds resulting from said adjustment.

The re-option will only be effective if enrollment is completed in the new course or shift, at which point the student will be linked to it.

  • Which channel is recommended to resolve my doubts?

If you have any questions or would like to know more about the course, schedule a conversation with the Coordinator via our customer service center's WhatsApp.
