Working in the medical field goes far beyond the technical knowledge needed to make an accurate diagnosis. We deal with people who are, in some way, vulnerable. In this regard, our mission involves understanding, empathy, support, and solidarity with patients' concerns. The PUCRS School of Medicine prepares you through training aligned with these contemporary health concepts. You will graduate from our course prepared to deal with the most varied situations in the day-to-day of the profession, understanding the needs and individualities of each person and practicing interpersonal relationships in the most diverse areas.
Our future doctors are trained with multidisciplinary knowledge in the area of Health Innovation and Integrated Health Work. Therefore, upon completing the course, they will be professionals with a generalist, humanitarian, critical and reflective profile, with international perspectives and developed cultural sensitivity. The areas of work upon completion of the course are many: hospitals, medical clinics, basic health units, emergency or urgent care units, laboratories, pharmaceutical industries, universities, among others.

Medicine is the basis for caring for the body and mind. Therefore, you will leave the course ready to put into practice all the technical and human knowledge acquired in the course in various areas.

Our curriculum supports multidisciplinary medical training based on contemporary concepts of health and disease. In addition to courses on innovation and integrated work in healthcare, during the course you will participate in several practical activities in partnership with other areas of healthcare and will also have classes with professors who have different market experiences.
