And this happens because there are professionals dedicated exclusively to understanding the evolution of humanity: the historian. Learning about ancient civilizations, the behavior of people from different cultures and how we got here are some of the roles of those who study History. Here at PUCRS, you will develop skills and abilities to produce historical knowledge in all its dimensions, meeting people's needs to understand their trajectory, their memories, their relationship with the past-present and their historical-cultural heritage.
The History – Bachelor's degree course aims to train critical professionals who are committed to truth, ethics, society and their students. Your learning will be built on values and principles that value the human condition, always defending freedom, inclusion, rights and respect for life in all senses. You will leave PUCRS prepared to work as a teacher in public and private schools, free education institutions, research institutions and much more.

Multidisciplinarity is at the core of the Bachelor's Degree in History: approximately 50% of the subjects are shared with other courses in the School of Humanities. Our curriculum is based on the most contemporary concepts in the field, and in addition to theoretical subjects, during the course you will participate in several practical pedagogical activities. Our teachers also have different professional experiences that contribute even more to a broad and complete education.
