Institutional Evaluation

Look in the mirror

A process of self-knowledge that contributes to fulfilling the University’s Mission.

PUCRS' Institutional Self-Assessment complies with the Law of the National System of Higher Education Assessment (SINAES), under the responsibility of the Self-Assessment Committee (CPA), a deliberative committee for the internal assessment processes at the University. In addition, the Technical Assessment Committee (CTA), of an executive nature, is responsible for the operationalization of these processes.

External Assessment

How the self-assessment works

The internal evaluation process at PUCRS occurs through several interconnected assessments. Some of these assessments are presented below.

  • On-site graduation
    • It takes place every six months with the participation of students and teachers. Students evaluate issues related to the course and subjects. Teachers evaluate the subjects and record the feedback of the results to the students in the classroom.
  • Online degree
    • The student takes the Subject Assessment at the end of the quarter and the course assessment in the last quarter of the same quarter.
  • Postgraduate Studies: Masters and Doctorate
    • Students take part in the assessment of subjects every six months. The Program assessment takes place annually with the participation of students and teachers.
  • Postgraduate: Specialization
    • At the end of each subject, students and teachers carry out an assessment. Students also evaluate their course at the end.
  • Academic Mobility OUT
    • PUCRS students who undertake mobility at foreign institutions carry out an evaluation of their experience in the semester following their return to the university.
  • Academic Mobility IN – Students – date
    • Foreign students on mobility at PUCRS carry out an evaluation of their experience while at the university.
  • Service Evaluation
    • Students (undergraduate, master's and doctoral), professors and administrative technicians carry out an annual assessment of the university's operational services.
  • Assessment of Infrastructure, Communication, Opportunities and Attention
    • Students (undergraduate, master's and doctoral), professors and administrative technicians carry out, every three years, an assessment of the infrastructure (physical and technological), communication and image, academic, cultural, social and personal development opportunities, as well as the service/attention to these audiences.
  • Certification Assessment (Extension)
    • Target audience: student
    • Frequency: at the end of the course
    • It is carried out by the student at the end of each certification/Extension course.
  • Internal Evaluation Commission

    Assignments

    • assess and endorse the institutional self-assessment plan and report prepared by the Technical Assessment Committee, abbreviated CTA, and submit it for approval by the University's higher bodies, in accordance with current legislation;
    • critically assess evaluation processes promoted by it, or presented by other bodies;
